Jeanne’s contributions extend far beyond the walls of radiology and her clinical expertise.
Today, we gather to celebrate the remarkable career of someone who has been an integral part of our healthcare family for decades. It is with great honor and admiration that we bid farewell to Jeanne Ferari, a dedicated nurse whose journey began here at Lawrence Hospital, now known as NYP/Westchester, in November 1982.
Jeanne’s commitment to patient care and unwavering dedication to her profession have been the cornerstones of her illustrious career. For the last 42 years, Jeanne has been an invaluable asset to this hospital and, for the last 20 years, to our Interventional Radiology team. She brings not only her expertise but also her infectious energy and spirit.
In 2004, Jeanne made the transition to interventional radiology, and from that moment on, she became an indispensable member of our team. Her knowledge of nursing protocols and procedures has been instrumental in ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
Jeanne’s dedication to excellence has not only earned her the respect of her colleagues but has also positively impacted the lives of countless patients who have had the privilege of being under her care. It is no surprise that Jeanne was awarded the prestigious “Wholeness of Life Award” and, more recently, “The DAISY Award”, a testament to her exceptional character, her profound impact on our patients, and her embodiment of our core values.
Jeanne’s contributions extend far beyond the walls of radiology and her clinical expertise. She has served on many hospital committees, fearlessly advocating for others in the face of adversity. Her dependability, strong will, determination, and resiliency have been a source of strength for all of us.
Outside the walls of the hospital, Jeanne is a true community champion. She has shown her commitment to making a positive impact on the community. She has volunteered her time for events like the “National Night Out,” which is an annual event that brings the community and the police together in a positive manner. She has helped at the “Mount Vernon Street Fair” and has walked at the “Breast Cancer Walk” at SUNY Purchase many times. Her willingness to go above and beyond has touched the lives of countless individuals.
Jeanne’s retirement marks the end of an era here at NYP/Westchester. As she embarks on this new chapter of her life, we want to express our deepest gratitude for her years of service, dedication, and friendship. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide us in the days ahead and live on in the lives she has touched and the memories she has created. Her presence will be missed, but her impact will be felt for years to come.
Jean has been the recipient of many awards during her professional tenure and, most recently, the DAISY Award, which is a testament to her exceptional character and the profound impact she has on our patients. Jeanne embodies all our core values.
Retirement isn’t the end; it’s a beginning, a chance to pursue passions, hobbies, and dreams that have long been neglected. May her retirement be filled with relaxation, new adventures, and all the happiness she so richly deserves.
Jeanne, may this next chapter of your life be as fulfilling and enriching as your career has been for us. Congratulations on your retirement!
