Jeanne recognized how every minute was precious during her patient's final days. His wife never left his bedside. After she turned her patient to his right side she realized he was trying desperately to turn back around to see his wife. Jeanne rearranged the furniture in the room and moved the sofa sleeper to the other side of his bed and placed it up next to him so the two of them could rest side by side. Those final intimate moments were indeed precious to the patient and marked a memorable moment for his wife going forward. The patient's wife wrote a four page letter of gratitude. She closed the letter by saying "If I am ever told that I am even half the person and nurse that Jeanne Gapinski is, I will be most honored".
