I am not a patient or a family member. I am the AVP over Hospice and I have personally witnessed the dedicated care and compassion Jeanne Goubert has for her patient's families and team members. Jeanne is an RN Liaison for Hospice. Jeanne meets with patients and their families to explain hospice services, evaluate patients’ needs and then arrange their care including their discharge home. You can imagine that many of these conversations are difficult and require skill, empathy, and compassion. Jeanne treats the patients and their families as if they were her own family. She takes the time to adequately explain hospice, answer any questions and then support the feelings and emotions that often come with the situation. She is not afraid of hard conversations and has those conversations with the grace, compassion, and dignity that people deserve. Jeanne is organized in her approach to care. She keeps track of each consult and does not put it to rest until everything is completed. She dots her I's and crosses her T's. She leaves no stone unturned which lays the path for excellent quality care when being admitted to Hospice. Jeanne is passionate about Hospice and the difference we can make in the lives of dying patients. She makes sure families are aware of our bereavement services and has recently been involved in a new program that provides a meal to the grieving family. She is willing to teach others to mentor new team members. She recently reached out to several community organizations to educate them on Hospice services and the quality of care provided by STHS Hospice. We are so blessed to have Jeanne on our team. I am in awe of all Jeanne does for others and how she cares for patients and families who are at the end of their life journey.
