September 2010 Honoree
jeanne molitor, RN
Jeanne stands out as a nurse from our unit who demonstrates the qualities outlined in the criteria for DAISY award. I have seen her on numerous occasions advocate for patients, especially the indigent. She stayed one time on a holiday to make sure a difficult, yet indigent patient got his script for pain meds. I think she has even housed indigent folks (patients) in the past years. She always has her reference tools with her to check on the latest info, look up a med or find patient education resources. She teaches TNCC and ACLS. I see her coordinate care for patients, even when it means having uncomfortable conversations with other team members i.e. surgeons. The thing I love the most about Jeanne: she bounces around the unit offering help to others - nurses, PCTs, patients and rarely complains about difficult tasks, not to mention she has given her best no matter what department she's in. Go Jeanne!
Thank you, Jeanne, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
