In the Pre-Admission Testing area, Jeanne has created an environment where nurses feel valued, connected, and supported. She intentionally weaves well-being into the fabric of daily work, establishing a weekly “Well-Being Wednesday” that offers meaningful opportunities for reflection, growth, and renewal. Through these moments, Jeanne reminds her colleagues that caring for themselves is not optional; it is essential.
Jeanne’s creativity and thoughtfulness shine through initiatives such as Well-Being Bingo, which encourages staff to engage in simple yet impactful acts of self-care throughout the month. She has also provided journals to her peers, inviting them to decompress, reflect, and process their thoughts in a therapeutic and supportive way. These efforts have normalized conversations around stress, resilience, and emotional well-being, fostering trust and strengthening team bonds.
Her leadership was especially evident when she encouraged her team to participate in the SMART program, supporting shared learning around resilience and stress management. This experience not only enhanced individual coping skills but also deepened connections among team members, reinforcing a culture of mutual support and collaboration.
Beyond her unit, Jeanne actively serves in Nursing Professional Governance at both the campus and system levels. She recently led a unit-based quality improvement project focused on well-being and submitted her first poster presentation, amplifying the voice of bedside nurses and sharing the power of compassionate practice.
