Jeannette had to go get a patient from the ED that she needed to admit when I arrived that morning, so she had another nurse in the room giving him his meds so they wouldn’t be late.
Caring: Although Jeannette had R as a patient for a few hours that day, as he was discharged later that afternoon, she was also always in his room checking on him and making sure that he and I were both comfortable. Her kindness is off the charts. Again, she also made R feel very safe.
Competence: Jeannette is extremely competent with her nursing practice. It was very evident by the way and the manner that she took care of R that day. She knew her job very well and went out of her way to make him feel comfortable that she knew exactly what she was doing. I also felt very comfortable with her competence.
Collaboration: Jeannette had to go get a patient from the ED that she needed to admit when I arrived that morning, so she had another nurse in the room giving him his meds so they wouldn’t be late. She could have easily let him wait until she could get back in the room, but she made sure that his needs were met. When she came back, she immediately came into his room and continued her care for him.
Communication: Jeannette is a great communicator and so easy to talk to and get information. She answered all the questions that R had, along with assuring him that he was going to be alright. She made sure that he knew that she was there at any time he needed her and she reminded him throughout her shift that she was available until he was discharged.
