Jeannette discovered that one of our patients, who likely would not live much longer (33 years old with stage 4 breast cancer with mets to liver and spine) had a daughter who is turning 6 today. Within 24 hours Jeanette had a cake made (in the theme that the little girl wanted) and purchased a gift for the little girl, to celebrate with her mom. This will likely be our patient's last birthday with her children. Jeanette will never know the memory she has created for this little girl. To me, this is the ultimate example of "above all else". The patient Jeannette helped, unfortunately, died the very next day.
