My family would like to recognize Jeannie Mah-Wilson from the Ontario NICU unit because of her amazing care. When we were first transferred to Ontario, we were extremely distraught. Although our son was doing well, we have a history of child loss. Within the first week, Jeannie showed her experience when noticing my son's stomach had become distended. He had other nurses that week, but Jeannie acted and possibly prevented my son's condition from worsening. She didn't just go through the motions. She went above and beyond for us. We were so scared watching our son go backward. Jeannie talked me down and made me feel like my son was in good hands. Throughout the rest of our time, she continuously educated us as this was our first live birth. Alongside another nurse, Jeannie prepared us to go home, even popping in to check on us when she wasn't assigned to our baby that day. All in all, she took the time to know our son and us while providing the best care. Jeannie's presence made all the difference for us during this difficult time.
