Jeannie went above and beyond her duties. She is very gentle and cares about whether I am in pain or not. She has been here for only six months but very knowledgeable about nursing. She always double-checks everything she does and what everyone else did.
You know sometimes you meet a person and have an instant rapport with them. It was love at first contact. She really tries to understand what I am going through because this trauma is hard and horrible. If I needed help with the smallest things she would do it in a heartbeat, no complaints. I was very dependent on her. She is a very wonderful person inside and out. The hospital is very lucky to have a nurse like her.

I'm honored to be part of this celebration today. It's great when patients recognize our wonderful staff and the exceptional care they provide. I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Jeannie Woo recently since I just returned back to work, and she was hired during my absence. I thought how am I going to write about this person whom I just met? Ask! Which I did.
I started with her immediate supervisor followed by her preceptor. Here is what they had to say about Ms. Woo:
Ms. Woo as a kind, compassionate, and understanding nurse, who takes time to listen to her patients in order to provide the best care possible. When patients get upset she is very patient and explains what she is doing.

Her preceptor described Ms. Woo as attentive, loves to talk to patients, and empathizes with them. She does not hesitate to help her co-workers. She had an impressive resume, honor roll throughout her school and has received several awards. She spent 10 years in the business sector, this is her second career. I have to agree with the patient, we are very lucky to have a nurse like her.
Thank you Ms. Woo for choosing LAC+USC as your first nursing job and making 6D your home unit.
Congratulations Jeannie! Keep up the good work! I know that your family here on 6D appreciates everything you do, and we are glad you are a part of our team.
