"I would like to choose Nurse Jeena for the DAISY Award in recognition of her compassion and patient-centered care during my children's vaccination visit.
She assisted me with vaccinating my three children. They all received multiple vaccines that day. All three children were crying together, and it was a very stressful and overwhelming situation for both my children and me.
Despite this, she remained calm, patient, and understanding throughout the entire visit.
What truly stood out was her empathy. Before every injection, she spoke gently to each child, reassuring them and even saying she was sorry for the temporary pain while clearly and kindly explaining that the vaccines were important to keep them healthy and ready for school.
Her words and tone of voice showed respect for my children's feelings and emotional well-being, not just a desire to complete the task.
She was never in a hurry or impatient. She gave each child the time they needed, maintained her professionalism under pressure, and created a safe and compassionate environment during a difficult moment.
