Jeff is recognized for his kindness, caring, and compassion. He received several nominations from family members. He daily reminds all nurses why they went into the profession -- to take care of people and provide them with outstanding care. He goes above and beyond in all that he does. His selflessness cannot be taught in a classroom or by a book. It comes from his heart. He forms a bond with his patients and their families and is a very special nurse.

Jeff cared for a cancer patient on several occasions as this patient frequented his unit due to complications from his illness. One particular night, this patient was beginning the dying process and Jeff was his nurse. He had formed a very special bond with this patient and his family. He had assured the family one morning when he was leaving his shift that he would be returning that night and that he would be caring for their loved one. Unfortunately, on his way home, he was in a serious car accident and suffered a concussion. Regardless of his own injuries, he took the time to call the floor and asked that the family be told he would not be able to make it in to care for their loved one. The family was very touched by the thoughtfulness he exemplified.
