I have anxiety, and Jeff would monitor my behavior to recognize when my anxiety was about to hit so that he could help calm and redirect me before it happened. When I had questions about how quickly I would get medical records to get a second opinion, he tried to get them for me before I even checked out. He was thorough, kind, and professional. He explained all of my medication changes, results of tests, and restrictions that I had, like not being able to walk for 6 hours after an angiogram. He made sure all medical services I received were clear and understood and that I had the opportunity to ask more questions. He didn't cut corners to try and make himself look better. He was honest, he was informed, and he did everything he could to educate me about what was going on with my health and the decisions I had available to me.

In all honesty, everything he did is what we "expect" nurses to do to take care of their patients, but he demonstrated it in every action and conversation. Unfortunately, I am in the hospital a lot, and he is the best, most perfect nurse I have interacted with. He was empathetic and observant and was there any time I needed to ask him a question, he never judged me for how stupid my question was. Jeff set an exemplary example of professionalism for his coworkers in his everyday actions. As I said earlier, we all have expectations of what nurses are supposed to do and be like, and that bar is set super high. Jeff surpasses all expectations. He is a shining example of what a person in the medical field should be like. I didn't want to go to the hospital, but I am very glad that I had the opportunity to have Jeff as my nurse.

P.S. I almost forgot to mention that he read what I had defined on my whiteboard as "good care," and he followed every single bit of it! Jeff is really a phenomenal nurse, and I cannot thank him enough for all he did to make me as comfortable and informed as possible.
