We appreciate the genuine compassion he showed, especially his interest in who my brother is as a person; asking about his interests and listening to our stories about him.
My brother was admitted to 5NE after a year-long battle with cancer and liver failure. As we made the excruciating decision to place him in hospice, the nurses and other staff on the floor helped to comfort us with their compassion and caring. Jeff took the time to listen to us, to explain things to us, even sharing personal stories with us to show us how he understood our pain. We appreciate the genuine compassion he showed, especially his interest in who my brother is as a person; asking about his interests and listening to our stories about him.

Jeff always said goodbye when he ended his shift and even stayed late to make sure my brother was given pain meds before leaving. I, too, am a nurse. I understand the busy shifts, the needy patients, the frustrations that nurses endure on a daily basis. Jeff has a way of never making his patients seem like a bother.

I know that I will go home a better nurse after this experience because of the compassionate care we received from all of the nurses, especially Jeff.
