I couldn't speak and my words when they came out were short spoken. I couldn't bring the words out to share my pain. Jeff came in and heard every muffled attempt with swift accuracy. He would have won any game of gibberish deciphering. Not only did he help me share my symptoms, he also brought joy into my world. Making me giggle and relax while my throat was not itself, a memorable use of my voice to show Jeff his kindness was felt. He is truly a calming presence to keep.
