February 2023 Honoree
Jeffrey Rhines, RN, BSN
We had an elderly patient that slipped and fell at home and sustained a head injury that required him to be life flighted to university for emergency surgery. The man nearly refused to go because he had an older dog at home and he had no one to take care of her. He had lost his wife a couple of months before and had no one to take care of him or his dog. Jeff promised the man that after work he would go pick up his dog and take her home with him until he was well enough to come home. He let that dog stay with him in his house until the man recovered and made sure they were reconnected after he was discharged home.
Thank you, Jeffrey, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
