The five days I spent in the ICU were the most challenging days of my life however, the nurses were stellar! The most memorable one throughout my stay was Jeffrey. My first contact with Jeffrey proved that this nurse was very knowledgeable about the type of surgery I had undergone. He was able to explain to my wife and to me in understandable terms the procedure I had undergone. Jeffrey took the time to explain every tube that was hooked up to me and its purpose, the same for all the medications I was on and taking. For the two days that I had Jeffrey, I felt extra secure and cared for. He proved to be a good listener as well. When I told Jeffrey my story, he never tried to rush me but instead listened and responded with kindness and courtesy. My family felt reassured on those two days that I had Jeffrey caring for me and that I was in the best hands! They felt welcomed and comfortable at my bedside on those two days.

Jeffrey’s ambitious nature also impressed me. He told me his ambitions and aspirations, and I was so glad to know that this young man is always looking to improve and further his education and career opportunities. It was indeed refreshing to not only meet such a great person but to also be cared for by Jeffrey as well. For these reasons I highly recommend Jeffrey Taborda for the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses because he is indeed an extraordinary person! This nurse also visited me when I left the ICU which truly showed he genuinely cares! Thank you, Jeffrey.
