As Jelonia was leaving work at the end of her shift, she encountered a Veteran's wife who was extremely upset because she had just been called and told her husband was dying. She was trying to get to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Jelonia comforted her and walked with her up to the ICU. Jelonia remained with her until she was taken to her husband to visit with him in his final hours. During the time she was with the Veteran's wife, Jelonia demonstrated compassion that eased the wife's anxiety and helped prepare her for her final moments with her husband. This is just one example of how Jelonia touches the lives of not just her patients but everyone with whom she comes in contact. Jelonia is a true DAISY Nurse.
