Jemmeliz is an excellent nurse who always provides extraordinary care to every patient, every time. At HMC, we take care of very complex patients, not only medically, but also behaviorally. Jemmeliz's approach to every patient is very soothing and calming. She takes care of every patient as if they were her family member. In fact, there was a patient on 4EH whose family member did not want to leave our unit because she didn't want her father to go to a nursing home, even though her father was medically ready to be discharged. Jemmeliz took care of this patient and was able to educate the daughter and provide her with some information about the nursing home. Jemmeliz eased the daughter's anxiety and discharged the patient that same day. This is one of many examples of how Jemmeliz regularly provides a "healer's touch" to her patients. She is so deserving of this award. She makes me want to be a better nurse and leader when I work with her.
