Today we had a patient who is not as fortunate as we are and does not have a house of her own. This patient had not been able to shower for some time and needed extensive and dedicated care. Jen went above and beyond for this patient. She prepared a warm basin of water and helped shampoo her hair, and then helped give her a full bath. After this was done she found her a new, clean set of clothes. This tender, loving gesture truly embodies Florida Hospital's mission to Extend the Healing Ministry of Christ. Beyond that, this is the perfect picture of what nursing is all about; helping the patient's mind, body, and soul. She went so far above and beyond the standard call of duty by doing so much to help this patient and exemplifying what we should all strive to be as nurses.
