Jen Duggin, RN

Jen is one of the most empathetic nurses I have had the pleasure of working with when taking patients from the Emergency Department. Tonight, Jen called my unit to check on her patient's spouse, who was in the ICU. Her patient had a history of confusion, and the admitted patient in ICU was her patient's primary caregiver. Jen advocated for her patient and worked with staff to make it possible for her patient to see her significant other. The empathy she showed for not only her patient but mine as well was above and beyond and proved the true heart of nursing and patient avocation. Jen took time to allow her patient to sit at the bedside with her loved one and emphasized the importance she felt that her patient was able to spend time with and see her spouse as this patient's outcome looked poor. I truly respect and appreciate this amazing act of kindness that was shown. Jen demonstrates the true meaning of care and compassion and sets a great example for those working around her. I strongly believe that Jen makes PeaceHealth Emergency Department a better place, setting the bar high in the care she gives to the patients that have the pleasure of having her as their nurse.
