There are not many departments that Jen has not been in. Even when she is going through a hard time, her self-therapy is wanting to work and be there for her patients and coworkers.
Jen's work every day is a true example of what it means to be a MercyOne nurse. She cares about her patients and coworkers more than she does herself and it is evident. She works hard every minute she is on shift and thinks about her patients' needs when she is at home. She has worked or is willing to work in every department throughout the hospital. You might see her checking patients into the Emergency Department as the secretary, caring for patients on med surg, preparing patients for their surgical procedures in outpatient surgery, recovering patients after surgery in the recovery room, or giving a Ketamine infusion to chronic depression patients. You might also see her garbed up giving Monoclonal Infusions to a Covid patient who does not need to be admitted, but needs treatment for their symptoms. You might drive by the surgical testing drive up station and see her collecting Covid tests for surgical patients. Another place you might see her is rooming patients in the ortho clinic. She can even administer chemo in the cancer clinic when needed. Recently, you might see her coming to insert a PICC line. There are not many departments that Jen has not been in. Even when she is going through a hard time, her self-therapy is wanting to work and be there for her patients and coworkers. Her funny stories and her laughter make the hard days go by faster and the fun days even more fun. Jen truly is the definition of a compassionate nurse.
