I had Jen as my night-shift nurse two nights when I came in laboring, and when I had to have an unplanned c-section, Jen held my hand while I got my epidural and advocated for me through the whole laboring process. On the second night, when I had my c-section right at shift change, I was so relieved to see Jen come in to be my nurse.

Unfortunately, the c-section did not quite go as planned, and my baby ended up in the special care nursery, and I ended up under general anesthesia and hemorrhaging. I don't remember much in the hours following my daughter's birth, but I do remember waking back up in my labor room without my baby and asking Jen to stay with me because I was terrified. After that, Jen did not leave my side for several hours until she moved me to the postpartum room. Jen truly felt like an angel to me that night, and I will never forget the way she made me feel safe after what ended up being a very scary delivery for my family. I will forever be thankful to have had such a caring and kind nurse during my delivery.
