Jenelle cared for a pediatric patient in the recovery room who had been transferred from the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for his surgery. This child was involved in a motor vehicle accident out of state which sadly took the life of his father. He was transferred to Boston for care of his injuries and Jenelle realized most of his belongings and toys had been left behind. Jenelle shared his story (maintaining privacy) with her children, that a little boy was in an accident and lost his Dad who was now in the hospital without any toys or belongings. Jenelle and her children got donations from their friends of toys, blankets, and backpacks. This patient's smile was priceless when he received his favorite superhero gifts.
Not only did Jenelle make this little boy's day a little brighter, but she taught a life lesson to her children and neighborhood community about compassionate caring for others.
Email from Child's Mom: Thank you! The gifts were amazing. He loves using the balloon to bop people with. It really made his day. Thank you and all you and your team have done for him!
