Jenelle has instituted numerous measures to assure the highest quality of care.
Jenelle has been a major contributor to our wound care service. She oriented our current nursing staff and set an excellent example of caring, competence, and compassion. She is always available to lend a hand when needed and goes the extra mile for our patients. A recent patient experience is typical. The patient was bedbound, with Alzheimer's disease and developed a pressure ulcer. The caregiver reported concern that she was only there for a few hours and the patient was not being turned at other times. Jenelle requested a social service consult and alerted me to these concerns. She taught the caregiver how to treat the wound and arranged for follow-up care. The Primary Care Physician was notified about the need for Home Health services. Jenelle has instituted numerous measures to assure the highest quality of care. She spends time educating the patient and family members, assuring they can perform needed care measures. She involves other team members as indicated, surgeons, primary physicians, and social services. She has at times arranged for transport and meal services for patients in need. She researched options for shoes for our lymphedema patients with swollen feet and provided handouts. She did the same with over-the-counter dressings. She excels in patient teaching. She has in the past prepared educational binders on wound and ostomy care. We are very fortunate to have Jenelle as a wound care RN team member.
