Jenifer Garcia Esquevel, BSN, RN
My incredible nurse for 2 nights and 3 days was Jenifer Garcia. I went into the ER at 4:00 AM and was then admitted to the hospital a couple of hours later. I had an e-coli infection in my blood and was told it could turn septic. It was a very frightening situation. Jenifer was with me throughout the day each day. She was so calming. Her calm and steady demeanor was extremely reassuring. She worked diligently and competently. She did a great job with communication as well. I was so impressed with her ability to do it all at the same time. Step-by-step, she talked me through every blood test, every IV infusion, and procedure, giving me great confidence in her focus and abilities.
Jenifer was great about answering questions regarding my health conditions. She demonstrated thorough understandings having to do with various procedures, test results, and any changes made to antibiotics. She was checking and rechecking with Doctors consistently, and I knew she didn’t “miss a beat.". I knew I was in good hands! I believe that Jenifer’s competence is also highly regarded amongst the staff. On days two and three, she was working with a nurse in residence. Jenifer demonstrated the same patience, calm, detailed, and deliberate communication skills with them as she did with me. In my opinion, Jenifer is an outstanding nurse. She seems to be a true “natural” for the profession. She has a special way about her that emanates outstanding compassion and care for her patients. I am very grateful to have had her as my nurse.
