Jen was being so gentle and her kindness in doing this was just amazing.

Jen was my sister's palliative care nurse. Throughout the day, Jen was very attentive and always coming in to check not only on my sister, but her family and friends as well. Later that afternoon, I left the room for several minutes and returned to find Jen re-braiding my sisters hair. She was being so gentle and her kindness in doing this was just amazing. I told Jen how much my sister would have appreciated this. My sister had beautiful hair down to her mid-thigh and was very vain about it.

During the course of the week she underwent a battery of tests including gluing little tips with wires attached to her scalp. By the time she arrived in palliative care, her hair was still braided, but disheveled. As the shift ended at 7 pm, Jen said she had paperwork to do, but would stop back by to say hi on her way out. She returned about 20 min later and sat with me for about an hour until my sister passed away at 8:20.

During the course of the day I had mentioned that we were going to cut my sisters hair and donate it to Locks of Love. After she passed, I was going to inquire about a pair of scissors to cut her hair. Jen had a pair and offered to help me. Jen even used her own hair tie and placed it on the top so we could cut it and hold it in place. I cannot say enough about this woman. She was so kind, gracious and compassionate in the care she gave my sister. She didn't have to do any of this, but she did. Her heart and soul are simply unbelievable!
