I have been helped by so many amazing nurses in my lifetime, but I have never met one nearly as special as Jenille Rimando. I will never forget her.

I was recently told by my gynecologist that I most likely had ovarian cancer and I knew I had to act quickly as my test results and symptoms looked bad. I called several institutions and no one was able to give me even a rough timeline of how long it would take to get a consult, let alone any kind of help in understanding anything about my state.

That changed, however, when I called UCSF and I was connected with Nurse Navigator, Jenille Rimando. Jenille noticed immediately that I was really worried and she ever so kindly offered to go through all of my records to see what the situation was. She carefully walked through each document in my file and explained to me what they meant. She did not seem rushed at all. She explained things clearly and made sure that I was understanding what she was explaining. Her explanation immediately put me more at ease. She suggested obtaining an order for an MRI of my pelvis to get things started and to be able to know more about what was going on.

To my surprise, Jenille called me to let me know the results as soon as they were in, and to explain to me more about my situation now with this new information. Things looked a lot better. I cried happy tears. Jenille patiently and thoroughly answered my many questions and she even called back again a few days later to check in! My mind was blown.

Jenille was the one shining star in an extremely dark and scary time. She made me feel safe. She cared and I really felt it. Thanks, Jenille. Thanks UCSF. I'm forever grateful.

Jenille is quite simply outstanding. Jenille goes above-and-beyond for all of her patients. As our nurse navigator, her communication is like a warm blanket comforting those seeking care. I am proud to work with such an incredibly dedicated and compassionate nurse.
