When you think about the kind of nurse you'd want by your side in any situation- calm or chaotic- you think of Jenine. All nurses should strive to be like Jenine! She is truly the best nurse! She is the supporting coach and teammate of every night shifter and the nurse of all patients. When you see her walk into a room, you breathe a little easier because you know everything is going to be okay. She is the nurse you want beside you, the one you would want taking care of you, and the one that the world needs more of. She is the very definition of a DAISY Nurse. No matter the unit, the urgency, the hour, she shows up without hesitation, ready to help. Whether it's a patient in crisis, a new nurse in need of guidance, or a team member who is overwhelmed. She immediately steps in to help.

Her clinical knowledge is vast, and I know I can always depend on her when I have questions. She is tactful in the most delicate situations and able to navigate any challenge. She doesn't just do her job - she truly is a caring nurse for every patient in Jewish Hospital. One night, I had 4 patients I received report on that all needed to go somewhere. Jenine helped me quickly move 2 of my patients to CUs and then helped me take both of my other patients down for stat CTs. You could ask any night shifter, and they will have a story about how Jenine has helped save them or their patients. I know that if I ever need help, she will find a way to help, find a way to make it better. Jenine is the night shift Superhero. When things get tough, she's exactly who you hope walks through the door.

She doesn't seek recognition, but she most definitely deserves it. For her skill, heart, and unwavering commitment, she is the kind of nurse who makes our hospital, its nurses, and patients, better every single day - and the award is long overdue for her.

Jenine is the showstopper at UofL Jewish. She works the night shift and has been an employee for numerous years. She goes above and beyond for all of us nurses and patients. When she sees us struggling with a very sick patient, she will jump right in and help stabilize the patient, no question. She's the star on the night shift when it comes to critical patients and her fast-acting and knowledgeable abilities. If and when I ever need an emergency critical care treatment or lifesaving done, I would want it to be her. I do not worry on nights that she's on duty because I know she is only a call away.
