Jennifer has been a nurse in transplant for the past 3 years and during these years she has shown to be very compassionate and caring, doing everything she can to help the patient. For the past 3 weeks she has been helping to do discharge phone calls. Yesterday while making a call to one of our patients, she discovered that the patient was not able to get her pain medication filled at the pharmacy due to a prior authorization needed. The patient had already been home for 2 days and was really in a lot of pain. Jennifer could not let this go, so she called the pharmacy and could not get any help from them, they told her to call Walgreens and get the information needed from them. She contacted Walgreens and in turn had to contact the insurance company to get things approved. She was on the phone for 1 1/2 hours but got everything approved so the patient could get her medication. This is truly going above and beyond to help our patients in need.
