Jenn Morales, B.S.N., R.N.

My father has terminal cancer and is a patient at MICU. Shortly after healthcare professionals treated my dad, my mother had a cardiac arrest. Her defibrillator went off multiple times, bringing her back to life. The moment was extremely traumatic for my family as losing one parent is difficult, let alone two. My mom thankfully recovered in CICU, where Jenn Morales was her nurse. Jenn immediately connected with my mom. My mom has a really strong personality, but Jenn picked up on her quirks and sense of humor and was able to bring my mom out of some dark thoughts. Most of all, Jenn made it her mission to have my mom visit with my dad on the 5th floor. Jenn would take her to see my dad, raising both mom and dad’s spirits. Jenn did not only have the visit just once. She picked up an additional shift to continue caring for my mom and facilitating their visits. Jenn’s actions demonstrate that she cares about not only her patients but also other patients. Her actions helped my mother, father, and, ultimately, the whole family. I wish that she could receive proper recognition for their kindness and dedication.
