My mother was brought to Resurrection Emergency Department experiencing low blood pressure and low oxygen levels along with slight confusion. She had difficulty breathing.
From the minute I arrived, nurse Jenna was attentive and informative. She explained every procedure as it was performed to me and my mother. She explained everything at our level to ensure we understood. She asked if we had any questions. When my mother was cold, she brought a blanket. When she was thirsty, she brought water.
She made sure my mother was comfortable. She checked on her every 15 minutes. She apologized for any discomfort with the insertion of the IV and Foley. We could tell by her demeanor that she was meant to be an ED nurse. She truly cares about her patients. She didn’t treat my mother like just another number.
