At the worst moment of J and our lives, we came in contact with Nurse Jenna. She had a very difficult situation where J could not be turned, or his heart would stop. He was slowly dying. We know it was Jenna's job, but she always made sure of what his wishes were. She was determined to follow through on them. He was always clear about letting her know.
Not only did Jenna give excellent care to J, but she also made sure to look after the family. Jenna always tried to help us navigate through the medical procedures and understand what was going on. It was never too much trouble for Jenna to answer our questions. We always felt comfortable and secure with Jenna in charge. She was amazing.
When asked, she gave us a heads up that it was time to stay the night as his situation worsened. Jenna even made sure I had my nighttime insulin with me when she discovered I had diabetes. We had discussed it in passing.
We will never forget her kindness, professionalism, understanding, caring, and compassion for J and all of us. In this difficult situation, Jenna let us lean on her just a little and we will always be grateful. She went above and beyond and has our utmost respect and gratitude.
