June 2026 Honoree
Jenna Jech, RN
Jenna Jech cared for me during one of the most vulnerable and life-changing times of my life — my external cephalic version (ECV) and the birth of my son. My pregnancy and delivery came with added emotions, including a breech presentation that required an ECV, followed by labor that at times felt overwhelming both physically and mentally. From the very beginning, Jenna brought a sense of calm, confidence, and compassion that immediately put me at ease. During my ECV, I shared some of my biggest fears.
What truly set Jenna apart was that when she later cared for me again during labor, she remembered those fears without me having to repeat them. In a moment where so much felt out of my control, she made me feel completely seen and understood. There were times during labor when I felt at my lowest mentally. Without me even needing to say it, Jenna recognized what I needed. She had an incredible ability to anticipate both my physical and emotional needs, offering reassurance, guidance, and strength exactly when I needed it most. She helped ground me, refocus, and most importantly, believe in myself.
Jenna not only demonstrated exceptional clinical knowledge and skill throughout my care, but she also provided something even more meaningful — a genuine, compassionate presence. She honored my wishes, advocated for me and created an environment where I felt safe, supported and empowered during a time that could have easily felt frightening and uncertain.
Because of Jenna, what could have been an overwhelming experience became one I look back on with gratitude and strength. She brought light into moments of fear and transformed my experience in a way that will stay with me forever.
Jenna is the kind of nurse who goes far beyond the expected. She doesn’t just care for patients — she truly knows them, supports them, and changes their experience for the better. She exemplifies everything the DAISY Award stands for, and I am so grateful she was part of my story.
