Jenna always goes above and beyond for her patients. We had one very sick patient on the unit who was very likely going to miss his high school graduation, which he was very much looking forward to attending. Jenna spent all day coordinating with multiple ICU doctors, consulting doctors, nurse manager, social work, transport, respiratory, risk management, and more. She formulated a plan to safely get this patient to his graduation.
In addition, Jenna helped him practice walking around the unit with his oxygen, so he'd be ready to walk the next day at his big event. The patient and his family were so happy, it is hard to put into words. Jenna also planned with Child Life to decorate his room while he was off the unit.
Lastly, Jenna volunteered personally to be one of his transport nurses on her night off. None of this would have been possible without Jenna. PICU is lucky to have her, and I know she has touched the lives of her patient and his family.
