October 2018 Honoree
jenna jones 2018, RN, BSN
Recently we had a challenging patient and dynamic family situation in our unit. Jenna Jones was able to set aside the negative family dynamics and focus her energy on the patient. It was a high acuity patient, with multiple needs, both physically and mentally. Jenna established boundaries with the family and was successful in forging a relationship with the patient.
In this situation, the patient's emotional needs outweighed her physical needs. Jenna had several shifts in a row scheduled for herself. She identified the hardship caring for the patient had placed on her colleagues, and willingly accepted the patient assignment every day she worked. Jenna not only did what was best for the patient, but she also cared for the caregiver and supported her coworkers by shielding them from this unfortunate situation. Jenna truly exhibited characteristics of Honor Excellence.

Thank you, Jenna, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
