After receiving Jaw Surgery, I was immediately moved to the ICU to be monitored. Upon waking multiple times, I’d end up in full panic attacks, given that I couldn’t speak. Jenna was always immediately there to calm me down and did everything in her power to make me as comfortable as I could. I felt at times that I was a huge mess or a burden even, and she insisted every time that there was nothing to worry about besides getting healthier. Jenna made sure and explained every step of the way what I was going through and how to overcome it. She didn’t have to make some fun personal conversation with me to take my mind off of my jaw, and she didn’t have to take the time to check on me while juggling 3 more patients constantly, yet she did and took the extra effort and to push me further so I could recover faster. This level of care made me feel safe, at home, and comfortable, especially since this was a huge surgery mentally and physically. I hope that if I ever need to go through something like this again, I will have another nurse like Jenna to be there for me in one of my most vulnerable states!
