Jenna has worked for Beaumont since August 4, 2014 on the Gyn/Medical Surgical floor. She started as a nurse tech while in nursing school and states that she feels blessed to have been able to stay with her home unit since becoming a graduate nurse and now an RN. Jenna went to Oakland Community College for nursing school and will be graduating with her BSN from Ohio University on April 29, 2017. Her favorite thing about being a nurse is the connection she is able to build with her patients. Jenna stated "I feel like I am a very small part of the care our patient's receive but can make a huge impact on their perception of their stay with us. I love bedside nursing and feel like I have had a successful day if I can make someone smile or just make it little less scary to be in the hospital". Jenna receives SOS write ups weekly if not daily by her patients or patient's families. Jenna has compassion and empathy for all her patients and relates to them on a human level. She takes her time with them and makes them feel cared for and safe. Jenna is not only loved by her patients but also by her co-workers and management team.

A patient's husband said "Best nurse my wife has had in years. She has the calling and doesn't treat her job as just a paycheck. She takes care of the big things and the small ones cheerfully and in a timely manner. If I need a question answered or a problem addressed, she gets back to me with an answer or RESOLUTION! When I leave I know my wife is in good hands.

I wish to give an "attaboy" to Jenna for the following specifics: When I had a question or set of questions, she patiently explained everything without making me feel as though I was putting her out. She was receptive to my input and made notes to follow up. She was always friendly, even at the end of a long shift. She has the calling. And I would know, having been the first male nurse hired here at Beaumont.
