Jenna Spaid, RN

I was running the Impella, and Jenna was running the CRRT on a critically ill patient who would not survive despite interventions. She and I continued to support the patient to make the final goodbye’s a possibility. Jenna was able to coordinate a zoom meeting with numerous family members on her personal cell phone so that the family could tell their loved ones Merry Christmas and goodbye. This patient and his family were from out of state. The family was not able to get here due to inclement weather, COVID restrictions, and holiday travel delays. Jenna patiently held a 45-minute Zoom meeting, answered questions, and cared for the patient, all the while managing CRRT, 10 IV infusions, remaining sensitive and compassionate. Jenna is incredibly thorough and kind, and she communicates clearly. The patient's family was very thankful and appreciative that they were able to be part of the patient's end-of-life decisions and say their farewells.
