When my son was having issues with ICU illusion and seeing things, Jenna helped us walk through it and tried to keep calm.
My son was in a terrible car accident. He is very sensory, we know he was very challenging to keep comfortable and he was in a lot of pain with many broken bones. He got ICU deliria and was really out of sorts.
Jenna's compassion when he was in pain was remarkable; holding his hand, trying to calm him. He was rough on a few of them. Jenna even volunteered to have him again if he stayed in PICU but he was transferred to a different room in the Children’s section. She came into his room just to check on him 3 times.
My son is very sensitive and his injuries were extensive. It was very hard to keep him quiet and comfortable. It was rather challenging for us as parents but also for the entire nursing staff. He has a bit of colorful language…ok a lot. We appreciate Jenna taking the extra time to try different things to keep him quiet versus hitting the pain meds all the time. She helped him breathe and got him hot packs. Even after we left PICU she continued to drop in to see how he was doing. Jenna was amazing, caring, sensitive seemed to understand ADHD at sensory issues, cared enough to make a difference. Even though he was a challenge, her sensitive heart and compassion for her job really stood out.
