Integrity--Jennie is always reliable. She does her work efficiently but thoroughly. For instance, working with TAVR patients (at the UWMC & VA), she started creating & sending packets that have substantially reduced the standard community care wait time from months to weeks. TVARs are done on patients with severe aortic valve stenosis (mortality rate 25% at 1 year & 50% at 2 years).

Advocacy--Jennie works tirelessly to get the VA cardiac patients the care they need. She processes the cardiology consults & requests the appropriate records so the patient has the most meaningful visit with the cardiologists. She coordinates the care with other services (if needed) & assists with coordinating outside services, as well. For instance, with cardiac amyloid patients, she organizes their studies, lodging, travel & getting the patients' results to VA cardiologists & UW geneticists as needed. Knowing which type of amyloid deposits a patient has significantly impacts their treatment and subsequently their outcome.
