When my son was admitted in the NICU, I honestly didn't know what to expect or realize the emotions it would bring. During our stay, I had a fever and I wasn't allowed into the NICU to see my son. I felt helpless and out of control. Once I was diagnosed and was told I would have to have a kidney removed, my anxiety and emotions were heightened. When I met Jennie, I knew my son was being taken care of. I knew his needs were being met. She made me feel at ease and spoke to me like a person and answered my questions without making me feel dumb. On the days that Jennie wasn't my son's nurse, I missed her. Having to have surgery while your baby is in the NICU was not ideal but having Jennie look out for my son made it better. I was sad that he was discharged before I could come up and thank her in person. So, Jennie, thank you for being you and for being an AMAZING nurse and person. Thank you for all you did for not only my son but for me. You are appreciated and will always be remembered by my family.
