She is a fierce advocate, an incredible educator, and a mentor. It is safe to say that because of Jen, thousands of children have been impacted by her education and passion to keep children safe.
When reviewing the criteria for this nomination, one person jumps to mind as someone who exemplifies each and every point. As an Educator, Jen is a true force of nature. She naturally commands the attention of learners, no matter the subject or modality, with her palpable enthusiasm for Nursing and dynamic presentation skills. Two of her most engaging presentations are on very heavy, hard topics. Learners are glued to their seats, hanging on to every word she says while she presents the information in the perfect blend of being direct and empathetic. She is an invaluable resource to her coworkers, making herself available to help anyone who needs it and freely sharing her expertise. Whether you need someone to bounce ideas off of, come up with creative, fun approaches to meet learning objectives, or help you run the best and most effective simulations, Jen is the go-to.

She's an incredible leader for our team. She is always encouraging and supportive and helps us grow and reconnect to our ultimate mission: to offer the gift of learning and development. She is the first person to offer to lead a change and the person you'd most want to be a champion in your corner. Jen inspires me to approach education with a curious, fun, and innovative mind, and I feel incredibly lucky to work with and learn from her every day.

Many people don't know this, but Jen's work has frequently been adapted by corporate for the past several years. Presenting Peds, code cart escape room, preceptor class, TIC, and so much more. She frequently mentors new educators and is always willing to help. She helps edit educational movies, which is a big part of why we are where we are. She has helped with Airlife sim and also spent weekends helping teach for outreach.

I have had the pleasure of working alongside Jen for the last several years. She is an Extraordinary Nurse, and anyone who has the pleasure of working with Jen knows that when it comes to protecting her Pediatric Patients, she NEVER says no. She is a fierce advocate, an incredible educator, and a mentor. Jen created the Presenting Peds Course that is now being used to teach nurses across our entire HCA enterprise. Not only that, Jen took the curriculum and adapted it for our rural health partners and EMS crews that is used across several states. It is safe to say that because of Jen, thousands of children have been impacted by her education and passion to keep children safe. Jen is always thinking outside the box and creating fun and interactive ways to teach. She is involved in several committees and is always the first to volunteer her time at events or to step up and help out where needed. Her passion, motivation and kindness are infectious.

It’s hard to think of just one example to give that proves Jen exemplifies all of these traits because it’s just how she does her job every day. She is always willing to volunteer to help out, even if it’s something new or outside her normal job requirements. Jen always goes above and beyond in everything she does. She makes sure things get done as quickly and thoroughly as possible and does everything to a high standard. She communicates clearly with her coworkers and is always kind when something needs correcting or improvement. Jen is always looking for ways to better her team, and I truly believe people who work closely with Jen are better at their jobs as well because her work ethic is contagious. I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this award, but she’s humbled enough to tell you she thinks otherwise - which just proves even more how well she fits this high standard.
