When someone asks me what I think a great Nursing Supervisor/leader looks like, I quickly think of Jennifer Avila. Jen started here at RWC in 2019 and, since then, has consistently exhibited the characteristics and behavior of an effective leader. She is caring, kind, trustworthy, excellent, and open-minded. She is professional in all interactions and her decisions consistently align with KP’s vision and goals of putting our members at the center of the care they receive. Those who know Jen know that she is the type of leader who leads by example. She will not ask anyone to do anything that she would not be willing to do herself. She is an effective communicator, active listener, and resourceful in de-escalating stressful situations. Her calm demeanor is a bonus to any stressful situation. Anyone who works with Jen can attest to her being a true team player and great leader. We are very lucky to have her on the Redwood City team.
