Jennifer Balagot, BSN, RN

Jennifer Balagot had a positive impact on my care when I had an abdominal myomectomy. She was the first person I saw when I woke up, and I don’t think there could have been anyone better. She was compassionate, and she had a peaceful nature that helped me to be peaceful, too. Jennifer answered all my questions and assured me that I was okay.

We even got to talking about my job, and she asked really thoughtful questions. I felt that she saw me for me and not as just another patient. We talked about learning languages and traveling. And we talked about the kids I work with at my job, a lot of whom have autism. I felt a connection with her, and that was important to me.

I was scared, having just woken up from surgery. She helped me regulate and then redirect my thoughts to topics I enjoy discussing. Jennifer deserves all the awards for her compassionate, skilled, and thoughtful work.
