Jennifer is the definition of what a nurse should be. After the death of a pediatric patient, she went above and beyond to care for the family. An infant code is always sad. Jennifer provided emotional support to the family with her calming and comforting presence throughout the grieving process. She sat with the parents of the infant, comforted them, and held their hands. She never left their side. She also cared for another one of their young children until a family member arrived. By answering the family's questions and providing emotional support, she was able to help the family cope with the tragedy of losing their child. They were extremely grateful. During the time she spent with them, she learned it was the infant's mother's birthday. Understanding how difficult this day was for the mother, she showed compassion and kindness. She is a wonderful and caring nurse.
