It is very hard to be a patient in the place where you work, especially in the position I am in. You never truly "leave the shop."

After my surgery, I was assigned to Jennifer. She spent time getting to know both me and my husband and immediately made us feel comfortable. Although she knew she would only be caring for us for a few short hours, she took the extra time to get to know me personally and ensure I was as comfortable as possible.

She always made sure both my husband and I understood everything that was happening and made us feel like we were her only priority.

Jennifer knew I liked to stay warm because she had taken the time to learn my preferences from my previous nurses. That small act spoke volumes about the level of attention and individualized care she provides.

I see every day how busy this department is, and witnessing this level of care warmed my heart and reminded me of the importance of our core values.
