Jennifer was one of the several nurses assigned to my health and wound care. After the first shift with her, I knew I had found the most caring, compassionate and wonderful nurse and human being. Not only did she put her "everything" into caring for me, but she also became a close and special friend I will treasure for the rest of my life. She took every bit of tender care during my wound care and never once did she complain about all the extra time and effort it took to make me as pain free and comfortable during these procedures. I was always looking forward to our chats and gab sessions while she was on duty. A day never passed that she would make the time to stop in, checking on my progress and ask if there was anything she could do to help me. We shared many stories about ourselves and our families and she even brought her family in to visit me on her off days. It's as if I knew her and her family all of my life. She was so considerate and openly friendly with my family while they visited me at the hospital. All of them also knew how special she was both to me and to them. They still talk about her "warm" smile that would light up my room when she entered. I also witnessed her caring and compassion with other patients on 7 North. She is a very dedicated nurse and deserves the DAISY Award hands down.
St. Joseph's Hospital is so very lucky to have this beautiful and wonderful "Gem" working there. She is just that special, no doubt about it!!!
