When our newborn daughter was admitted to the NICU, we were terrified and overwhelmed. She was without a heartbeat for the first 12 minutes of life, which caused a lot of issues with her breathing and organs. The first three days of her life were the most critical, and they were also the days when Nurse Jenny cared for her. What makes Jenny's role so remarkable is not only her clinical skill but her unwavering dedication compassion and presence that truly made a life changing difference for our family.
Jenny picked up an extra shift on what was supposed to be her day off so that she could remain my daughter's day nurse for the first three days. That decision alone showed how deeply she cared about providing consistent and attentive care during such a fragile time. Her presence gave us a sense of stability and trust when we needed it most. Our daughter was on six or seven IV drips at once. Jenny constantly monitored each drip to ensure the correct dosage and compatibility of medications. Every day she carefully replaced the IV lines and double-checked every connection. She was thorough, steady, and completely focused, balancing múltiple medications with incredible precision. Jenny's attentiveness and compassion truly made a meaningful difference in E's care and in our family's experience in the NICU. She embodies everything the DAISY Award represents. We will always remember Nurse Jenny.
