I received what I would consider every mother's worse nightmare call at 3 AM one morning telling me that my son was in the emergency room 3 1/2 hours away! You can believe I was a hot mess by the time I arrived. I was so confused about the situation and feared the worse for my son. He was hazed while attending college and dropped off in the evening after their "big brother reveals" night unresponsive. He continued to stay unresponsive and was on a ventilator for over 10 hours. During this time Jennifer and her team were there to assist. Jennifer was much more than a skilled nurse that evening; she was an advocate for my son and a saving grace for me. There were decisions that needed to be made and she patiently explained them to me and helped talk me through the tough decisions like my son was one of hers. She protected him. I will never forget the caring love we received from her.

Unfortunately, there have been other cases just like my sons with worse outcomes this past year. If it had not been for God's saving grace and the love and support from Jennifer and her amazing team in the ER at Milledgeville, I know my son would not be here today. God knew we needed them to get us through.
