We had two patients who were vacationing in Virginia, doing a full history tour of the battlefields, when they were in a car accident. I got to brainstorming and remembered that Jennifer Michael also does local history tours and civil war reenactments. I reached out to Jennifer to see if we could bring the vacation to them. She did not hesitate.

The following day, she brought in pictures, glasses, money, and other items she had come across over the years. She was able to tell the story of each piece and let them touch and hold the pieces. It was so emotional in the room. It truly made a difference in their lives, and I believe they will always remember it. This is what patient experience is all about.
